A veranda lets you enjoy the garden even when the Cumbrian weather isn't playing ball. It gives you a covered, sheltered spot along the back of the house to sit out, eat, or just watch the rain from the dry.

We build them from solid timber and oak framing, tied properly into the house and roofed to keep the weather off. Add lighting, a decked floor, or side screens and you've got an outdoor room you'll use far more of the year than you'd think.

What is the difference between a veranda and a porch?
A porch shelters your entrance door, while a veranda is a longer covered area running along the side or back of the house for sitting out and enjoying the garden. We build both, matched to your home.
Will a veranda keep me dry in the rain?
Yes. We roof our verandas to shed the weather, so you get a genuinely usable covered space rather than just shade. Add side screens and you can sit out in all but the worst of it.
Can I add lighting and power to a veranda?
We build in provision for lighting and power runs so you can use the space in the evenings. Final electrical connections are best left to a qualified electrician, and we plan the layout to suit.
